“I absolutely love the Go platform. It’s so easy to pick up, take with you, and share with friends. We wanted to design a rhythm game for Go that is just as elegant and fun as the device itself. With Beatron, we use the Go controller to maximum advantage. You can swing the disc two different ways — slicing or bashing — and also throw it, which is super fun. … We’re featuring up-and-coming artists, like Ian Post and Katrina Stone, who are indies much like ourselves. I love the new music I’ve discovered while making Beatron, and I think other people will too! I can’t stop listening to these songs even when I’m not playing the game. But I also know how much fun it is to play to your own music, so that’s why we’ve put effort into making _Beat Editor_, a desktop app for creating your own Beatron tracks. You’ll be able to share these with your friends, or install tracks created by others, making Beatron always a fresh experience.” –Joe Strout, Principal Engineer on Beatron 2000™
“When we started developing this game we thought about how much fun rhythm music games are and how only a few games really get this genre right, especially in VR and particularly on the Oculus Go. This game was built right from the start to utilize the Go’s motion controller in such a simple and intuitive way. One of the the core tenants of our development philosophy was that we wanted Beatron to be fun for everyone, of all skill levels from novices to hardcore gamers. I recall a particular enlightening moment when I first introduced this game to my parents who are in their 70s. The smile on their faces and their desire to keep playing it over and over again was really inspiring. It’s just pure fun, especially once you get the hang of timing your disc slices to the beat of the music.” –Joe Tresca, Creative Director on Beatron 2000™
